marking an occasion

A wise friend recently brought to my attention the importance of marking an occasion. Don’t get me wrong, I love an excuse to get together with friends and toast any random Tuesday,  but I mean really gather, with the intention of recognizing a milestone, hard work  or the beginning of a new chapter.

To surround yourself with your most loyal cheerleaders that share your triumphs when they are well aware of your past failures is so strongly encouraging. These occasions are what builds your community and sense of belonging.

There is something about September that naturally marks the end and beginning of something. The end of summer bliss, the beginning of fall harvest, back to school (in whatever variety that looks like), a change of seasons and a return to routine.

This fall, I commend my community on the creativity and fortitude it took to keep the heartbeat of our small town beating. The ingenuity in the arts and hospitality sectors in particular has been incredibly impressive. Backyard theatrical performances, floating musical barges, vintage truck concerts, pop-up patios, food deliveries to your door, to mention only a few ….  To everyone that went the distance, I hope you know how appreciated your hard work has been.

This week at Wild Honey….

A celebratory launch of Wild Honey Concierge Services! A few close friends, pink bubbles, lavender cupcakes and a few tears to mark the occasion of a new chapter. A special thanks to Uber Design for bringing my idea to life and many thanks to my friends who have patiently listened to me and offered suggestions and support as I processed verbally. Onwards…
